Introduction:
Sfumato Art Magazine is pleased to announce the Open Call for Issue 03, marking a new chapter in the magazine’s editorial and curatorial development.
Following the success of previous issues featuring artists from across the globe, Issue 03 introduces a strengthened curatorial structure, bringing together guest curators and the Sfumato editorial team to present a carefully selected selection of contemporary artistic practices.
Sfumato is committed to supporting artists at different stages of their careers and providing a thoughtful platform where diverse visual languages, perspectives, and mediums can coexist. Each issue is conceived as a space for dialogue, visibility, and professional presentation—both in print and online.
Curatorial Structure — Issue 03
Issue 03 is a non-thematic issue and will be curated based on artistic quality, conceptual clarity, and contemporary relevance.

Artists are invited to submit works across all mediums. Selected works may be placed in the section deemed most appropriate by the curatorial and editorial team.
What Selected Artists Receive
Artists selected for Issue 03 will receive:

A professionally designed feature in the printed magazine

Dedicated space for artwork presentation and artist information

Inclusion in the official digital edition of the magazine

International visibility through Sfumato’s website and social media platforms
A limited number of artists may also be invited for editorial features or interviews as part of the issue.
The magazine will be produced in high-quality print and distributed internationally through trusted print-on-demand platforms such as Blurb or Lulu, ensuring worldwide accessibility with affordable shipping options.

Submission Guidelines:

Submit 3–5 high-quality images
-
Images must be minimum 800 px on the longest side (300 DPI recommended)

For sculptural or three-dimensional works, multiple angles are encouraged

Each image should be clearly labeled with:

Artwork title

Year
Artist information:

Artist Bio: up to 150 words (third person)

Artist Statement: optional, up to 300 words

Files must not exceed 10 MB
Fees:

Submission Fee: $8 USD (non-refundable, paid at submission)

Publication Fee (upon acceptance only): $29 USD

The submission fee supports administrative processing and curatorial review.
The publication fee contributes to design, production, publishing, and promotion costs.
