Paper Dreams: The Creative Vision of Beatrice Sartori
By Sfumato
Beatrice Sartori’s latest solo exhibition invites viewers into a world where paper transcends its humble origins to become a medium of color, texture, and emotion. Drawing inspiration from the smallest details of her surroundings—a scrap of paper, a play of light and shadow, or the curve of foliage—Sartori crafts works that are both precise and poetically expressive.
Her distinctive method involves meticulously cutting every element of a composition with scissors, assembling up to eight overlapping layers per section, and carefully adhering each piece. The result is a dynamic interplay of shapes and colors, rendered with a clarity and vibrancy that is unmistakably her own. Sartori’s art addresses themes of joy, respect, and harmony, while reflecting her deep commitment to the natural world. By employing 100% recycled paper, she seamlessly integrates her environmental ethos into her practice, transforming the act of creation into a gesture of ecological mindfulness. Through this exhibition, Beatrice Sartori reaffirms her place as a visionary in contemporary paper art, offering audiences an experience that is both visually captivating and thoughtfully resonant.
Her works are modern, graphic, and colorful, yet carry an intimate connection to human emotions and the environment—reminding us that beauty, care, and creativity can coexist in every layer.
