Annita Apostolidou Platis is a multidisciplinary visual artist, curator, essayist, and poet based in Athens, where she lives and works. Her artistic practice is recognized for its luminous chromatic language, symbolic depth, and the seamless fusion of traditional and digital techniques. Through her work, she explores themes of mythology, transformation, and feminine identity, creating visual narratives that bridge classical heritage with contemporary experience.
Annita began painting at an early age through academic training in classical art, later expanding her creative path through studies in fashion, jewelry, and interior design. This diverse artistic education shaped her distinctive visual language, where elegance, symbolism, and technical refinement converge. Working across painting, mixed media, and digital collage, her artworks combine layered imagery with poetic sensibility. Many of her projects function as self-contained visual narratives, inviting viewers into a contemplative dialogue with myth, memory, and emotion. Her practice reflects an ongoing search for the connection between the visible and the symbolic, the historical and the personal. Her work has been presented in numerous international exhibitions across Europe, the United States, and Australia, reflecting a sustained engagement with global artistic dialogue. From a design perspective, at Sfumato Art Creatives, we approached the creation of Legends – The Code as a visual dialogue between the artist’s vision and the structure of the book itself. Working closely with Annita Apostolidou Platis, our goal was to design a publication that reflects the poetic and symbolic nature of her work while maintaining clarity and elegance.
The layout was conceived to allow the artworks to breathe, giving space to both image and text so that each page unfolds as a quiet visual experience. Particular attention was given to rhythm, balance, and typography, ensuring that the book supports the contemplative atmosphere of the series while guiding the reader naturally through the narrative.
Rather than imposing a strong graphic presence, our intention was to create a refined and timeless design that enhances the artworks and poetic content. The result is a publication where design serves as a subtle framework — allowing the visual language of Legends – The Code to emerge with harmony and coherence.
