The Legend of Edgar
The Legend of Edgar is a poetic and moving story—one of a scarecrow in love with life. It tells the tale of a character cast aside by others, yet full of wonder at the beauty of the world. He embodies a deep desire to explore, to connect, because beneath his withered straw beats a tender and sincere heart.
Through Edgar, I wanted to share a message of gentleness, hope, and freedom—an invitation to look beyond appearances and to listen to the voice of our dreams.

This story was born as I was gazing at a small scarecrow planted in a flowerpot.
I watched him, alone, motionless, rooted in the earth, unable to leave—yet his wide-open arms gave me the impression that he was dreaming of flying away.
Beatrice Sartori, Author

When my wife read me Edgar’s story, I was deeply moved by the tale of this scarecrow rooted in a sunflower field. The poetry of his world immediately touched me, and images began to take shape in my mind.
I started sketching the character, who gradually came to life on paper.
Page after page, I created the illustrations using watercolor pencils, taking great care to capture the essence and dreamlike atmosphere of this unique figure, filled with a longing for freedom.

They say that long ago, a scarecrow stood watch in this very field.
The farmer placed him there to frighten the sparrows away.
But what the farmer never knew was that the scarecrow loved birds.
To him, they were the essence of freedom.
His name was Edgar.
This is his incredible tale.
The Legend of Edgar

They placed him there to scare the birds.
But what no one knew
was that he loved them more than anything.
let yourself be carried away.
let yourself be carried away by your dreams.
